Happy Shopper

Happy Shopper

Happy Shopper is a line of inexpensive value branded foods and goods produced for the United Kingdom cash and carry company Booker Group, which is part of a consortium led by Baugur. The products are sold to independent convenience stores and off-licences around Britain. There are also a number of corner shops owned by Booker plc which are under the Happy Shopper brand. The company produces a variety of goods, such as carbonated drinks, groceries, snacks, and ready meals on occasion, as well as selling more mainstream products in their stores.

The Happy Man

The Happy Man (or "Jim") is the official name of Happy Shopper's logo – a smiling face with blonde hair. It has been used as a logo by the company for over 20 years. However, in recent years the "happy man" has been discarded from the happy shopper products and packaging.

In Popular Culture

*The Happy Shopper store is parodied in the game re-named The Hippy Shopper. The store in the game bears exact resemblance to the real life stores.

*Dizzee Rascal mentions the brand in his song Fix Up, Look Sharp with the lyrics "I'm old skool like Happy Shopper"

Ownership

Happy Shopper is owned by Booker Group, that is listed on the Alternative Investment Market in London, and part-owned by the Baugur Group.
