Charles Dickenson

Charles Dickenson

The Right Reverend Charles Dickenson DD, PC (August 1792 – 12 July 1842), was an Anglican bishop in the Church of Ireland [1] in the 19th century.[2]

He was born in Cork in August 1792, educated at Trinity College, Dublin and ordained in 1818.His first post was at Castleknock after which he was Chaplain of the Dublin Female Orphan Home.[3] In 1832 he became Chaplain to the Archbishop of Dublin and the following year the incumbent at St Ann’s Dublin.[4]

He became Bishop of Meath [5] in 1840 [6] and died in post on 12 July 1842.[7]
