Christian contemplation

Christian contemplation
Also refer to: Contemplative prayer

Christian Contemplation involves a grasp of the reality of the presence of Jesus Christ. In contemplation, the I's gaze is directed by faith to Jesus. 'I look at him and he looks at me'.[1]

The I is not dissolved but renounced/silenced. It is not the ego that is perceived as the ultimate. This is pre-requisite to contemplation.
