Parliamentary elections were held in Niger on 14 February 1993. They followed the constitutional changes approved in a referendum the previous year, which re-introduced multi-party democracy. Although the National Movement for the Development of Society won the most seats (29 of the 83), several opposition parties formed the Alliance of the Forces for Change following the election, between them controlling 50 seats.[1] Voter turnout was just 32.7%.[2]
