Sheffield College

Sheffield College is a further education (FE) college in Sheffield, England. It was formed by the merger of six FE colleges in 1993. The main centres are Castle College (in the city centre), Hillsborough College (which replaced Loxley College in Stannington, and Parson Cross College in 2005) and Norton College. Norton College also includes the Peaks Centre. Castle College is currently being rebuilt, with the planned completion in 2010. The Sheffield College also hosts the [http://www.sheffcol.ac.uk/OnlineCollege Online College] , offering a range of online professional development and academic courses. Sheffield College Students' Union

Sheffield College Students' Union is a rapidly expanding organisation representing the interests of all students at Sheffield College. Members of the Union can get involved in it through events and elections organised by their Local College Union Committees and Union Executive Committee.

Sheffield College Students' Union is affiliated to the National Union of Students. Kat Fletcher, President of the National Union of Students 2004 - 2006, is a former General Secretary of Sheffield College Students' Union.

Lifelong Learning Network

The Sheffield College is a partner institution of Higher Futures, the Lifelong Learning Network (LLN) for South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire.

Evening Courses

Sheffield College runs a range of good quality evening courses for adults dispersed at its six locations. In particular it runs art and language courses at its Bannerdale centre. Some artists who have studied there in the past have gone on to be influential in forming new art movements such as Nouveau Surrealism
