Aviogenex is a charter airline based in Belgrade, Serbia. It operates regular and ad hoc charter flights, as well as ad-hoc charters and aircraft wet-lease services. History

Aviogenex was established in April 1968 and started operations in May 1968. It was founded as the air transport division of company Generalexport, an enterprise for foreign and domestic trade, tourism and air transport. The first flight was made March 3, 1969 with Tupolev Tu-134 aircraft.

The best year for the company was 1990 when the airline had 633,932 passengers, flying 10 aircraft (5 Boeing 727 and 5 Boeing 737) reaching 17,000 flight hours per year. Operations again ceased following the Kosovo conflict, but restarted from November 2000. It is wholly owned by Genex Holding and has 212 employees.

Sold aircraft

On September 26, 2006 Aviogenex sold it’s 3 Boeing 727-200ADV's to American company [http://www.manta.com/coms2/dnbcompany_hjv7qt Pennant Aviation, Llc - Memphis, Tennessee (TN)] for $543.000 USD. The registrations of the aircraft were YU-AKM, YU-AKD and YU-AKH.

Privatisation

Aviogenex is practically bankrupt and is currently not operating. Aviogenex will be split from their owners and will be sold either at the end of 2008 or at the beginning of 2009.
