Birkir Bjarnason (born May 27 1988 in Akureyri) is an Icelandic professional footballer, who plays in Norwegian Tippeligaen, for Bodø/Glimt. He plays the position of midfielder and is 1.82 m tall.

Playing career

Birkir started his career as a football player at the school team on Sandved elemtary school in the year 2000, where his teacher Sigbjørn was a great inspiration for him.Bjarnason joined Viking in summer 2005 from Figgjo. In season 2006 he scored his first goal for Viking against Hamarkameratene.
