Archibald Henderson (politician)

Archibald Henderson (1768 – 1822), was a Congressional Representative from North Carolina; born near Williamsboro, Granville County, North Carolina, August 7, 1768; attended the common schools, and was graduated from Springer College; moved to Salisbury, North Carolina, about 1790; studied law; was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Salisbury; clerk and master in equity 1795-1798; elected as a Federalist to the Sixth and Seventh Congresses (March 4, 1799-March 3, 1803); member of the State House of Commons 1807-1809, 1814, 1819, and 1820; resumed the practice of law in Salisbury, N.C., and died there October 21, 1822; interment in the City Cemetery.

He was the son of Richard Henderson and the brother of Leonard Henderson.
