Tom Lord-Alge

Tom Lord-Alge is a three-time Grammy-Award winning record producer and mixer widely known as a leader in music mixing. His older brother, Chris Lord-Alge and the lesser known youngest brother Jeff Lord-Alge are also audio engineers.

Lord-Alge helped pioneer a method of digital tape editing known as "flying" vocals (e.g., using a piece of the chorus to accent a different part of the song, etc.).

One of the world's most prolific mix engineers, Lord-Alge continues to turn out a massive quantity of work, mixing such popular artists as Manic Street Preachers, Sarah Brightman, Sarah McLachlan, Marilyn Manson, Angels & Airwaves, Oasis, Sum 41, The Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel, Blink-182, David Poe, Fountains of Wayne, The Fratellis, Avril Lavigne, Boys Like Girls, U2, Weezer, M2M, The Goo Goo Dolls, Live, Hoobastank, and Billy Talent, to name a few.

Tom Lord-Alge gained notoriety while working at Unique Recording Studios, NYC in the 1980s for his mixing for Force M.D.'s, Chaka Kahn, Taka Boom Malcom McLaren, David, Johansen, OMD, TKA, Jeff Beck, Little Steven, Wendy & Lisa, John Waite, Earth, Wind & Fire, Supertramp, The System.

At Unique Recording Studios in 1985, Tom Lord-Alge recorded and mixed Steve Winwood's "Back in the High Life" album featuring the single "Higher Love" The album “Back in the Highlife” won multiple Grammy’s in 1986 for Record of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male and Tom Lord-Alge won the Grammy for Best Engineered Recording - Non-Classical.
