Tomentose

Tomentose is a term used to describe plant hairs that are bent and matted, forming a woolly coating. Often the hairs are silver or gray-colored. Many species of plants that have this type of structure have been named for it, including "Achillea tomentosa", "Aristolochia tomentosa", "Opuntia tomentosa", "Paulownia tomentosa", "Rhodomyrtus tomentosa", and "Uncaria tomentosa".
