Gaude Mater Polonia

Gaude Mater Polonia

Gaude Mater Polonia (Rejoice, oh Mother Poland) was probably the most popular medieval Polish hymn, written in the 13th-14th century in memory of saint Stanisław Szczepanowski, bishop of Kraków. Polish knights used to sing it after victory in battle.
