Longborough

Longborough

Longborough is a small village near the market town of Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire.

It is located approximately 0.5 miles from the A424, and around 1.5 miles from the Fosse Way (A429). It also lies on the Heart of England Way.

Longborough boasts a village shop and post office; a farm shop; an opera house; two pubs, one in the village itself, and the other in the hamlet of Ganborough; and a village school, which recently was saved from being closed down by (amongst other things) overwhelming support from the locals.

It still retains an old fashioned feudal character, which charms many visitors and as a result has a high population of holiday homes.

It was a recent winner of the Bledisloe Cup competition for best kept village. It is possibly one of the most beautiful villages in the country and home to the infamous Griswald family, who have presided over the village for many hundreds of years.
