National Taiwan Ocean University (traditional Chinese: 國立臺灣海洋大學; simplified Chinese: 国立台湾海洋大学; Tongyong Pinyin: Guólì Táiwan Hǎiyáng Dàsyué; Hanyu Pinyin: Guólì Táiwān Hǎiyáng Dàxué, abbreviated as NTOU) is a national university in Keelung, Taiwan, Republic of China.

History

The predecessor of NTOU was a junior college for the study of maritime science and technology, founded in 1953. Because of government policy, it was transformed National Taiwan Ocean University in 1989. At present, the University has 6 colleges including 15 departments and 12 independent graduate institutes.
