Jizan (also called Jazan, Gizan or Gazan) ( _ar. جيزان) is the new name of the capital of the
Jizan Province in the far south-west ofSaudi Arabia . Jazan city is situated on theRed Sea coast and serves a large agricultural hinterland. It has a population of 100,694 (2004 census). In the north there areFarasan Islands . It is famous for its high-quality production of tropical fruits likemango ,figs , andpapaya .Ethnography
The inhabitants of Jizan, are made up of Arabs and Africans, particularly the
