Hans Krondahl

Hans Krondahl, born 1929, is a Swedish painter, tapestry weaver, textile artist and textile designer.He studied painting and textile art at Konstfack, (State College of Arts, Crafts and Design) in Stockholm, 1955-1960.The artist set up his own weavingstudio in 1962, where he created tapestries and related artwork, and he also took up fabric designing for various Swedish companies.The studio closed in 1992.From the early 1960´s Hans Krondahl taught Textile Art and Design in various schools in Sweden and abroad. Periodically from 1974 on , Krondahl worked in the U.S.A.He held a position as Textile Design Expert for UNIDO in Bandung,Indonesia in 1979 and 1980.In 1981 Hans Krondahl became head of the Crafts Department,University of Gothenburg and in 1988 he was appointed Professor of Textile Art at the same institution.In 1965 Hans Krondahl was awarded the Lunning Prize.
