The National Orthodox School (NOS) (in Arabic: المدرسة الوطنية الارثوذكسية‎) is a school in Amman, Jordan.

The National Orthodox School started as a kindergarten in a rented building in Jebel Amman in 1960. Then it was moved to its current premises in Shmeisani in 1965. Now it has a student body of 1900 plus students, and it is the first co-educational school in Jordan.

The school is an affiliate of the Orthodox Educational Society, and its pedagogic message emanates from the society's philosophy, whose foundation is to nurture a generation characterized by faith in God, love for the homeland and the Arab World, open-mindedness and repudiation of fanaticism and bigotry – a generation that calls for the respect of man, and that is armed with learning and knowledge, so that that it can comprehend and deal with all that is new, and be ready to take objective decisions on the basis of logic and scientific analysis.

The school identifies itself as part of the Christian presence in the Kingdom which constitutes an approximate 6% of the population of Jordan.[1] The school does not offer scholarship opportunities but may provide some sort of financial aid under very special circumstances.[2] NOS holds the British Council accreditation for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).[3]
